This study showed that Stockholm firefighters had an overall low risk of cancer. However, firefighters had an increased risk of stomach cancer compared to the reference population. There was an increasing overall risk of cancer with increas- ing employment duration, which potentially could be related to the carcinogenic exposures at work, although there was still no excess of cancer overall in any of the categories of employment duration.
