The “Doing it Right -Reducing Cancer in the Fire service” awareness and prevention training program goal is to educate firefighters and EMS personnel about their increased risk of developing cancer; encourage actions and behaviors to reduce or prevent exposure to occupational cancer hazards; encourage healthy lifestyle choices to further reduce cancer risk; and provide information about screenings and early detection, have conversations around culture change, and share resources available to firefighters, EMS personnel, and their families following a cancer diagnosis.
